Author’s Day

Author’s Day

The Department of English at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will host Author’s Day with a free and open-to-the-public poetry reading from this year’s guest author, Katie Berta, to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20th, in the Bell Library, second floor.

Berta is the author of the poetry collection titled retribution forthcoming, from Ohio University Press, which won the Hollis Summers Poetry Prize. Her poems have appeared in several prestigious literary journals, and her book reviews have been featured in The Los Angeles Review of Books, American Poetry Review, Ploughshares, West Branch, Harvard Review, and elsewhere.

She received a PhD in Creative Writing from Ohio University and an MFA from Arizona State University. She’s previously served as the managing editor of The Iowa Review and is currently a visiting assistant professor at Oberlin College in Ohio. This Author’s Day event is free and open to the public.
