The Department of English at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will host Author’s Day with a free open mic reading from this year’s guest author, Andrea "Vocab" Sanderson, to be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, in the Bell Library, second floor.
Sanderson, Poet Laureate of San Antonio (2020-2023) is an award-winning poet, singer, and hip-hop artist who finds inspiration in the poetry of Dr. Maya Angelou, Robert Frost, and classic soul lyrics. She infuses complex rhyme schemes and inspirational text into her work that rings true to her gospel and hip-hop roots. She is an advocate of community outreach and loves mentoring teen poets.
This Author’s Day event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Dale Pattison at dale.pattison@tamucc.edu.
