Dear Supporter,
This year marks the 14th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001. In an effort to make sure Americans do not forget the attacks of that day, and in order to honor the brave First Responders who made great sacrifices on our behalf, as well as those who stand ready to do so today, Interim Police Chief Mike Markle has announced the 5th annual Patriot 5K Run/Walk. The event will be held Friday, September 11, 2015 at North Shoreline Blvd. Event opens at 5 p.m. with a commemoration ceremony at 5:30 p.m. followed by the run at 6 p.m.
This commemoration is sponsored by Corpus Christi Police Foundation (CCPF), a 501(c) (3) whose mission is to create a safer Corpus Christi by strengthening the bond between the Corpus Christi Police Department and the citizens it serves. In an effort to include and encourage as many people as possible who wish to participate in honoring our First Responders, there will be no entry fee for participation again this year. Instead, participants will receive entry and a commemorative t-shirt complements of CCPF and its supporters.
