Ribbon Cutting for CASA of the Coastal Bend

Thanks to the Charity League, who raised $282,000 for CASA of the Coastal Bend, their generosity allowed us to complete renovations on our back building. We increased the number of staff offices, enabling us to grow and serve more children. In addition, an office and children's room has been made available for advocates to work on their case or meet with their CASA children.

CASA of the Coastal Bend has been training everyday volunteers in our community to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care and help find them their forever homes since 1992. Last year there were 1,176 children from Aransas, Nueces and San Patricio counties in foster care- we had 180 advocates serve 331 children. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month so we are holding this event to inform the community about abuse and neglect that is happening to children in our own neighborhoods and the help we need to stop the cycle by people being aware and stepping up for these children in crisis by becoming a CASA and being a voice to advocate for their best interests.
