Hoegemeyer's BBQ Barn

Hoegemeyer's BBQ Barn

About Us

Located in a 90-year-old warehouse in Corpus Christi’s port-industrial district, Hoegemeyer’s simple methods bring south Texas Mesquite barbeque to the masses.

Hoegemeyer (pronounced Hay-guh-my-er) opened its doors May 15th, 2013 in Corpus Christi’s industrial port area bringing the best barbecue to downtown. Our building has been around since at least the late 1920s (as evident through some of Doc McGregor’s aerial photos.) At the time it was a transfer house from rail-to-road. We’re big on family and fixin’ delicious food. We smoke barbecue and cook fresh every day and go until we’re sold out. We thank you for stopping in and genuinely appreciate your business.

David Page, pitmaster and owner, has been in the restaurant business since high school. In 2008 he sold the last restaurant he ran and thought he was done. After a few years of cooking on the sidelines, he got the itch to open another restaurant. When thinking of a location, he considered a few different places, but just kept thinking about putting barbecue in downtown Corpus Christi. We have owned the barn for almost twenty years and are finding out new things about its heritage all the time.

This South Texas barbecue comes from the heart – we love to serve good food and give people a good time. We cook fresh every day and when we run out, we’re out. Lunch is served daily Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. – we’re available for special events, mixers, catering, parties, fundraisers, and more after hours and on the weekends. We’re family, and want you to be a part of ours.
