Ribbon Cutting for Family Counseling Service

Family Counseling Service is a nonprofit community mental health organization that has been serving the Coastal Bend for 80 years.  Our mission is to strengthen children, individuals, and families by providing professional therapy, education, advocacy, and other supportive services in response to community needs.

As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, Family Counseling Service is grateful for the support of our community and we invite the community to help us mark the occasion!  It is fascinating to review our 80-year history and see how FCS programs have changed along with the needs of our community, as well as how many needs remain the same.  Over the years many caring staff, board members, donors and community partners have come together to make an impact on the lives of countless children, individuals and families.

FCS has remained a stead-fast part of the Coastal Bend for 80 years, providing “behind the scenes” services to assist families and individuals with the many challenges that life often brings.  Nearly 10,000 hours of services are now provided each year…providing healing for trauma, support through grief, direction for those feeling lost and hope during adversity.
